Recycle your Trevira CS textiles
Fibre manufacturer Indorama Ventures Fibers Germany GmbH has a return program for textiles made from its polyester fibre Trevira CS. It allows the material in the textile to be recovered and reused through mechanical recycling. Svensson helps customers who have purchased textiles from us with the recycling process.
Which textiles can be recycled?
Trevira CS fabrics purchased from Svensson can become part of the fibre producer Indorama Ventures return system. The fabrics must be clean, dry, and free of finishing agents. Both dyed fabric and printed curtains can be introduced into the return flow. Minor amounts of textile material other than Trevira CS, such as sewing thread, are also permitted.
How does the recycling process work?
The mechanical recycling process and further processing into nonwovens takes place at Indorama Ventures recycling partner in Germany. The fabrics are mechanically recycled and torn into fibres, which may be further processed into nonwovens of different specifications with the addition of new and/or low-melting fibres.
What happens to the material once it has been recycled?
Recycling textiles can give new life to the material. For example, the recycled materials can be used for insulation or soundproofing. Besides acoustic panels, the material can be used for sound absorbing wall coverings, freestanding partitions, ceiling suspensions or decorative objects, etc.
