This spring – a prism of light
People have always had a strong attraction to light. It affects how we feel and how we experience things. Inspired by our ambition to contribute to spaces where life takes place and where people feel good, we have landed on a concept that unites our new fabrics. We have called this concept Prism.
Like a crystal disperses light, projecting a spectrum of colours and creating shadow plays, we have updated our classics and created entirely new products. With an emphasis on visual comfort, we’ve examined how fabrics can help us to distil light. We’ve created structures that bring shadows to life when the light hits them. And we have put together colour scales that live in synergy with the light.
Our new textiles include an upholstery fabric, a solar control fabric and four curtain fabrics – three brand new editions and three reimaginings of familiar faces. The nuances that are created when light is dispersed in a prism are the colours that stands out this spring.
Opaq
Opaq is a solar control fabric that combines form with function. Its knitted structure gives it a sleek, frosted exterior that is reminiscent of Japanese rice paper. The closer you get, the more clearly you can see the delicacy of the craftsmanship. The fabric filters the light in a pleasant manner, making the shadows dance on the reverse side. Its colour scale includes mint green and turquoise nuances, together with classic neutral tones.
Grain
Its acoustic properties and understated elegance have made Grain a popular fabric. The sound absorbing curtain is based on various colours of contrasting yarns which together create a shimmering outward appearance. Its construction gives it a clear structure which contributes to the beautiful drape. Grain combines a sensation of softness with a sophisticated image and contemporary colour scale. This fabric enjoys widespread appreciation and is easy to combine with other textiles. Use it as a classic window curtain or to create new spaces for interaction.
Airy
Airy is a curtain fabric that manages to combine an airy netted structure with a stable drape. The solution is to let the two-tone warp embrace the lighter weave. This produces a curtain that is both visually and naturally transparent, discreet, interesting, and full of life. Despite being so light, Airy has a clear structure and plays with different colours of yarns that complement one another. Suitable together with dense fabrics that create a great base and give you the flexibility to choose how much you want to screen of.
Tune
Tune was created with the ambition of combining timeless aesthetics with the best quality acoustic properties. As an A-rated sound absorbing curtain, Tune helps people switch off, adjust the noise level and achieve focus. Tune is robust and trustworthy, with depth in both its drape and its colour scale. With its clear ribbed pattern, the matte surface feels tactile and structured. At the same time, it provides a certain shadowy effect. Both sides of Tune look identical, making it the perfect choice for creating new spaces within a space. Its solid impact is nice to balance up with the help of sheer textiles.
Karat RE
Karat RE is an updated Svensson classic that is now made from 100% recycled polyester (Trevira CS). This makes it a sustainable choice, without losing any of the properties of the original. Karat RE is a hanging fabric with a lovely depth and beautiful drape. The colour scheme ranges from pale natural tones to milky pastels. The tight structure of its weave is reminiscent of classic Oxford cloth and the laid-back elegance it represents, making Karat RE a gentle and flexible fabric with broad appeal, suitable for most spaces.
Macro
Macro is an upholstery fabric with a distinct wool feeling that balances between soft and robust, which also makes the fabric feel exclusive. Our wool-dyeing process brings life to the pattern which on closer inspection resembles a neatly ordered arrangement of the natural variations in the wool. When observed from a distance, the colours blend together to create a more even surface, hence the name Macro. Just like its sibling Ally, this fabric has a structure that helps create delicate shadow plays and reflections. However, Macro has its own dependable personality that is easy to understand and easy to love.
