Ludvig Svensson SL is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Sales Director Iberia, for the horticultural regions in Spain and Portugal.

In the 1970s, the company developed a number of very innovative climate screens for the professional greenhouse cultivation of vegetables and flowers. The job

The Sales Director Iberia will work closely with fellow consultants, sales managers, and a professional back office in The Netherlands. Your local team currently consists of a Sales Representative. The ambition is to grow this further in line with sales so you can build your own team.

You will be a professional discussion partner and consultant for greenhouse growers, screen installers, and greenhouse builders. The role involves advising, contributing to sales, following industry developments, and being involved in demonstration projects. The Sales Director will also assist installers and greenhouse builders with grower-related issues and contribute to product and market development.

The responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues and external parties to sell Svensson screens, following industry developments, contributing to product and market development, being involved in demonstration projects, assisting installers and greenhouse builders, working with fellow consultants and sales managers in other countries, and contributing to business plan development and execution.

The expectations for the role include creating a well-functioning team, identifying prospects and generating leads, executing technical visits and supporting growers, handling customer issues or complaints, presenting seminars and educating distributors, complying with Svensson processes, providing market and competition information, and participating in strategy discussions and bringing ideas for business growth.

The Sales Director Iberia reports to the General Manager LSEMEA, Tino Rikkers, and lives within 100km of Almería city, working from the office in Almeria and from home.

Your profile

The ideal candidate should be a leader and people manager with a respectful and friendly approach, hands-on and solution-oriented, with a BA or BS degree in horticulture, agriculture, engineering, or related fields, and a minimum of 5 years of horticultural/ agriculture experience. You should have an entrepreneurial mentality, be a self-starter with good commercial sense, and possess good written and spoken communication skills in Spanish and English.

 Work Experience and Competencies:

  • You coordinate daily activities of the Spanish team, design plans for growth and continuous improvements
  • You will develop and maintain an achievement-oriented culture based on continuous learning
  • Act as a link between inside and outside sales and consultancy
  • You will create recommendations for technical solutions based on climate proposals, implement Value Based Selling activities, provide superior and timely customer service
  • You have a good commercial attitude and know how to use this successfully in combination with your knowledge;
  • You enjoy working with horticulturists and visiting their companies and are able to quickly develop sustainable relationships;
  • Prepare yearly business plans and sales forecasts, analyze market and customers
  • You preferably have a relevant network in the areas where you will work;
  • You think in solutions and are stress-resistant;
  • You are a team player, reliable and people can count on you;
  • create sales plans, adapt marketing strategies to local circumstances
  • You have knowledge and experience in greenhouse horticulture, know the necessary things about greenhouse climate in relation to crop growth;
  • Visit customers at least 60% of the time.
  • You can use a laptop well and are familiar with internal CRM systems;
