Cucumber Culture
Cucumbers prefer day/night temperatures of 22/19⁰C (72/60°F). The best way to cut heating costs is to use one of our transparent energy screens. In areas where winter temperatures tend to drop below 4 ⁰C (39°F), you might consider a double energy screen for even greater savings.
High light levels go hand in hand with high production levels. But don’t overdo it: radiation greater than 600 W/m2 could result in problems for your crop. In countries with moderate summers, you can always use the available energy screen for shading. In warmer climates, we’d recommend screens with 40% to 50% shading and an open structure for ventilation.
